Whats in my travel makeup bag?

travel makeup bag

Hello everybody! Today I am going to share with you what I took along with me when I went to London for a few days. Personally when I am away from home, the range of makeup I take with me is not important because 1. I’m going away to spend time with family/visit new places and 2. I have to lug it all around, no tank u

On that note, the things that I do choose to take with me need to be reliable and non-faff!

This is my travel makeup bag – its really cute if I do say so myself! By the brand ThursdayFriday,  I bought it from asos and you can find the same/similar right here (currently on sale!). I was pleasantly surprised about how much I got into it, and actually I didn’t need to take my RT brush holder (which you get with the core collection and starter eye kit) because I was only taking 4 brushes, and they fitted snuggly inside too!

The base I opted for, has been one that I am continuously impressed with whenever I apply it - the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC cream. Firstly it provides a light-medium coverage, and effectively covers up redness, whilst still giving natural finish. I love love love the finish and the SPF which is something my other bases actually lack. I think another reason why I adore this is how blend-able it is with my fingers! I mean sure you can use a brush, but I prefer le fingers because its quick, simple and great coverage for a CC cream.

Blush wise I went for a shimmery one Sleek Rose Gold blush and a matte one Natural Collection – Peach Melba. I opted for these because they are small, and if they do end up being broken due to travel it won’t be the end of the world (won’t catch me saying the same about thing for my NARS ones being broken!). Also I’m trying to use the NC ones up as I don’t really have room in my collection for them anymore, and their lasting power isn’t fabulous. However the two mixed gave a beautiful pink glow, which stayed put for a decent amount of time.

Highlight, I went for the super versatile MUA shimmer kisses bronzer, which I’m considering doing a full review for because for it’s price, I really think it should be in everyone’s collection!

My normal concealer routine consists of these three products, so how could I leave them behind?! The Benefit Erase Paste – shade 3 as my corrector, the collection lasting perfection – shade 3 as my concealer and all set with the Ben Nye Banana Powder. My two every-day under-eye essential brushes are the RT detailer brush, for applying the corrector and the RT setting brush for the Ben Nye.

For the eyes I kept it really simple, with the MUA Undress me too palette, which is basically the perfect drugstore palette along side its elder sister. I mean for under a fiver could you ask for anything more? A matte base, a matte black, lots of golden, bronzes and taupes!  I honestly don’t think I’ll ever be without this in my collection ^_^ I decided to skip on liner, and just add some darker shadow if I wanted more definition.  For brows I took my ABH Brow Wiz in the shade Brunette, which has the perfect spoolie!

Lips wise was a random selection that was already in my handbag – MAC’s Peach Blossom and the MUA Power Pout in Rendezvous.

I know it might seem like a lot for some people, but it was a toughie to narrow my collection down to a couple of things! I mean I didn’t even put in a contour, eyeliner or mascara (shock horror!). Actually I quite enjoyed not having all that choice, it reminded me of during my spending ban time when I restricted myself to a few products for the whole week – I feel like that’s how you really get a feel for the products and how to best use them y’know?

What are your must haves when travelling?

Update | Graduate Fashion Week

graduate fashion week

Hello everybody!

A bit of a different post from the norm; today I want to share the photos from a super exciting opportunity!  As my family’s business in London is manufacturing leather, suede and sheepskin they work with designers, large retails, stylists and students. Consequently they get invited to many events which showcase their work. I was lucky enough to be able to attend graduate fashion week and watch the De Montfort and Kingston fashion shows with my uncle.

For someone who is not really clued up on fashion at all, it was an awespiring experience to enter the world of it and watch a live fashion show myself! I haven’t really had the chance to edit the photos, but I hope you still enjoy them – starting off with a the beginning of the journey!

And now on to the runway!

Ooohhh look at all those camera *_*

Although my preference will always be the beauty side of things (I kept commenting on contouring much to the bemusement of my Uncle) I found it fascinating to get a glimpse into the world of fashion and the life of a fashion student! If you’re interested in finding out more about GFW or want to see it all in video here over to BeautyCrush’s channel or click here as she went to the same place I did the day after! Such a shame as I would have loved to have met her!

I hope you enjoyed this quick snapshot as-well!

Haul | US Drugstore/BeautyJoint

BEAUTYJOINT HAUL
Hello everybody!

Again I apologise for my lack of general blogging – exams are over and I have been so busy I’ve not had time to read other blogs, or get back to a schedule…however that is all changing! I have started this Friday with a loose schedule, and I’m planning on sticking to it ^_^ just bear with me for  a few days, and thankyou for all the lovely comments too!

Anyways long intro aside, I am so excited to finally be able to share this haul, because it means I can FINALLY use all of my new goodies! These arrived right in the middle of exams, and I stashed them away until now, so here we go!

wet n wild eyeshadow review comfort zone and walking on eggshells

Starting with eyeshadows, how could I possibly purchase anything from the US drugstore online without dipping into wet’n’wild?! I also opted for the two most talked about palettes; Comfort Zone which consists of eight shades which are all pigmented and soft to the touch. I think each of these shades are flattering for brown eyes and I’m excited to try it out! I also picked up Walking on Eggshells which is a beautiful neutral palette and pretty much perfect the perfect travelling palette! Both palettes come with a sponge applicator and a brush, and on the powders they have wording like ‘browbone’ ‘crease’ ‘eyelid’ and ‘definer’ making it simple for anyone to use!

Next I wanted to try some eyeliners from the drugstore! Over the years of watching various youtubers I have heard a few brands pop up consistently, and one of the most talked about is Milani Liquid Eye which is a pencil eyeliner that transfers as a liquid look. Although I typically only wear gel/liquid liner on the top lid these days, I think a pigmented pencil liner is essential in any collection and I’m hoping this one lasts.

I then picked up two Jordana liners, one being the Jordana FabuLiner which is a very thin nibbed liquid liner. Honestly I prefer liquid liners which have a pot, rather than a pen form because I find they last longer but for the price I didn’t have much to lose. The Jordana 12hr made to last liquid eyeliner pencil  in the shade 02 Espresso Last was bought because I love a brown shade for some definition, rather than an intense black day-to-day. This is very creamy and comfortable to wear, and the 12hrs seems promising although time will tell. I also love how it doesn’t smudge or budge, and for a couple of dollars I have high hopes so far.

milani baked blush in luminoso 05 review

The only blusher I picked up this time around is the Milani baked blush in 05 Luminoso which I have wanted to get my hands on for almost two years! It is packaged beautifully, if a little bulky (as it comes with its own brush and mirror). The shade is a stunning pinky/coral which’ll be beautiful for this time of year especially. I’ve gotta say I love it when drugstore makes a bit of effort with packaging, and yes although the bulkiness isn’t ideal, the gold makes it look so pretty!

jordana easyliner lip liner tawny review

I picked up one lip-liner based solely on a YouTuber’s recommendation – Carly B seems to always be talking about this (I THINK its this one anyways D:). It was a couple of dollars and a beautiful neutral colour in the shade Tawny. The fact that is is retractable, rather than a pencil form is also great ^_^

wet n wild matte lipsticks just peachy stoplightred sugar plum fairy smokin' hot pink cherry bomb review lipsticks wet n wild matte lipsticks just peachy stoplightred sugar plum fairy smokin' hot pink cherry bomb review lipsticks

Finally I went a little bit craycray with the Wet’n’Wild matte lipsticks! And at that price can you really blame me? ;D I picked up the shades: Just Peachy, Smokin’ Hot Pink, Stoplight Red, Sugar Plum Fairy and Cherry Bomb. So I certainly got a huge range of shades! Again these are cheap, cheerful and comfy on the lips! Who knows…perhaps I’ll start being more brave this summer now.

And that is my first ever USA drugstore haul, from the online store: www.beautyjoint.com. I actually made two separate orders, to keep the price UNDER £15 with each one as always do when ordering from a US online store. This way I avoided paying customs tax and it all got to me within two-three weeks so I am very happy with my experience! I’m also excited to be able to talk to you about different products, and to all my US and Canadian girls out there let me know what you think about these ^_^
I’m temped to pick up a couple of concealers now..at that price it would be rude  not too!
