Hello all! A new one from me today, a review of a perfume - oh la la! I’m not a massive fragrance girl so I’m certainly not snobby when it comes to celebrity scents. Sure some are awful, but there are more than a handful which are awesome. My first ever perfume was Britney Spears - Curious and since then I have loved Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday and also Vera Wang’s Princess (does that count as celebrity??), so when I got the chance to try Rouge Love by Rihanna* I was excited!
The first thing one judges a scent on is packaging - which is a big part of any perfume and I have to say I really like Rouge Love’s. The square bottle is dusted with a rose gold colour theme and it looks rather classy, with the textured white lid. My favourite part of the bottle is the of course the studded detailing! I’ve never seen glass studs before, don’t they look ever so Riri?? Although the whole colour theme is pretty soft to match the ‘love’ theme, I think they’ve nailed the packaging by adding the studs because it brings the edginess that oozes out of Rihanna.
Now lets talk about scents, I am not a musky kinda girl nor a spicy one either. I don’t mind floral scents but ultimately my favourite of all time is a sweet smell. Rouge love is inspired by the feeling of falling in love and the top notes are mandarin orange, red berries and peaches. The base notes are vanilla and caramel which is what makes the scent a lovely balance between fresh and floral AND warm and subtle. I have enjoyed wearing this as an everyday scent, its fresh and then it gently fades into a sweeter scent, nothing strong nor heavy.
Pricewise it’s very affordable, you get 75ml for £33 which is great as it’s not the longest lasting scent on me so I can respray with my travalo whenever I need! I know this should matter, but it looks so nice on my dressing table, which is obviously an added bonus of course. Overall from the unique bottle to the lovely smell, this is a gorgeous addition to my humble collection ^_^
Have you tried any of the Rihanna perfumes? What’s your favourite scent at the moment?
